We tried it this twelvemonth & it worked similar a charm - much easier than skinning by hand!!!!

This was on a friend's buck that we did:

Yeah merely getting the cervix rolled down enough and tied securely takes equally much time as Skinning. I won't ever do it again on a warm deer bc I tin can do that in ten mins. On a cold deer hung overnight I would practice it once more. I broke 3 ropes one time trying to pull the hide off one time 6 yrs agone

Yes but getting the neck rolled down enough and tied securely takes as much time every bit Skinning. I won't ever do it again on a warm deer bc I can practise that in x mins. On a cold deer hung overnight I would do information technology again. I bankrupt 3 ropes i time trying to pull the hide off one fourth dimension 6 yrs ago

my thoughts also, add in strapping information technology in, hooking, unhooking, I can be washed by then.

I used it once and time I did all the cuts, got the ball tied upward and, got the vehicle in place to pull the hibernate out I could of skinned three deer. Maybe if I was more prepared beforehand or something idk. Simply isn't worth the time for me.

I've used information technology several times, need a stiff hanging system ,cut feet off up to the knees, split hide up each leg, start the hide ,enough on the cervix beneath the head, ball a small rock (golf ball) in the hide ,tie your rope around hide and rock .Hook rope to wench on the four wheeler ,hide usually pulls off pretty easy ,if it don't help it a niggling ,with a knife .I always had my deer ,field dressed and hung a few days ,before skinning ,and cutting upward.

Got a buddy that skins with a golf brawl. One of my dads buddies, when he got older, rigged up some type of carpeting with hooks sticking out. Crazy looking contraption. He'd throw information technology on the dorsum of the deer once he had it hanging and fabricated his cuts, hit the gas in the 4 wheeler and yank the hide right off.

I've been pulling the skins off for years. Once you get used to making the required cuts, it doesn't accept much time at all. I've used rocks, golf balls, D cell batteries. All worked just fine. I've pulled the skins with lawn mowers, golf carts, trucks, ATV'south, UTV's and electric winches. I hang them past the caput, pull the skin, then bone them out. I tin can bone one out in about xv minutes. I've tried strapping them down and pulling the skin on a tarp like Lady Hunter did in the video. I establish it easier to do them hanging.

I rarely always even field dress i. God made trucks 4 wheel drive for a reason. Unremarkably they skin pretty like shooting fish in a barrel by paw when steam is nevertheless rolling off them. I may try this if I have to back out and one is cold.

The other choice is to use a rage. They'll gut em, skin em, and quarter em in one shot.

I've done it a couple of times. First time, we hung a doe from a tree limb(I had shot her before that morning), cut the neck back and put a baseball game size stone in the pocket. Tied off to bumper of my truck and let her rip. Information technology all came off slick every bit a ribbon. We didn't practice any cuts anywhere other than getting it started. 2d fourth dimension, the deer had been hanging over night. Tried the same method, and it didn't come off every bit good. Tore around the shoulders and concluded upwards skinning the shoulders and legs similar normal.

Guy I hunt with likes to practice it this mode. He also uses an air compressor with a needle to split the skin first.

Like most have said, I don't think it is that much faster. I can go from pulling the trigger to quarters straps ribs etc cut upwardly in a box in an hour and 15 minutes. I don't even telephone call that fast. That'south too counting the time it takes to get a carcass out of the field, upwards the loma, and hanging.

No slander on anyone else, I just don't want to apply any more gas powered machinery than I really have to.
